Abilene's two Year Round Walking Events (YREs) both start at Knight's Inn (Formerly Civic Plaza Hotel) (800) 558-0222, 505
Pine Street Abilene, TX. From I-20 take Exit 286A. Stay
on Pine St as N. Treadway will vear off to the left. You will go
23 blocks to 5th and Pine. The Walk Box is available 365 days
a year. The Civic Plaza offers volkssporters who stay with them the corporate rate of $49.00 with a full breakfast. There is free RV parking one block North at the Abilene Civic Center.

Abilene Christian University YRE

The ACU Route was changed to take advantage of the new walking trail the city/ACU built which now makes the course a 11k.
McMurry University YRE
YR 393
Rated 1+ but is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
The route takes you though downtown, passing historical churches, then
along Sayles Blvd to McMurry University. Tree lined streets offer better chance of shade on hot sunny days. It also qualifies for the Railroad Heritage Special Program.

ZEPHYR YRE
YRSW 1803
Rated 1+ but is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
The walk route includes the Zephyr Cemetery, residential area passing schools and community center. There is little/no shade on this walk. Walk start is open M-F 6:30 am - 6 p.m; Sat 6:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.; and closed on Sunday and major holidays.
